The U.S. Mission in Russia is pleased to announce an expansion of our current interview waiver program as a part of President Obama’s Executive Order to substantially increase travel and tourism to the United States. Starting immediately, certain applicants who have previously been issued a visa that expired in the past 47 months will be eligible to renew their visa without an interview.
Ken Walsh, commercial attaché from the US Embassy gave a speech on USA practices in qualifying accessible tourism destinations:
‘Today I will discuss the findings of my discussions with travel agents and tour operators regarding the development of accessible tourism in the U.S. and how agent groups not only influenced the process of making accessible tourism practical and profitable, but also discuss some of the methods they use to ensure positive vacation experiences for their clients.
The Visit USA first presents new ski resorts in Utah and Wyoming in the United States to Russian tourists and travel agencies. Consistently implementing the policy of expanding the opportunities for travel in the U.S. for Russian tourists, Visit USA members organized a fam tour for tourism professionals December 5-16, 2011 in the US states not previously represented in the Russian market.
On January 17, 2012, the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) welcomed the first Russian visitors since the U.S. Department of Homeland Security approved visa parole for Russian citizens on January 15, 2012. The Prudnikovs, a family of four, arrived on Guam via Korean Air under the Guam Russia Visa Waiver Parole Authority. The family is staying at the Pacific Islands Club, a popular hotel with waterpark, and will be on Guam for three weeks. They return to Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia on February 6, 2012.
