The Fort Ross 2012 Bicentennial Committee is inviting you to join the year-long celebration of Colony Ross. Fort Ross (originally, Krepost Ross — Fortress Ross) was the hub of the southernmost Russian settlements and the deepest vanguard into North America. In 1812, on a stretch of the Pacific Ocean eighty miles north of San Francisco, Russian explorers established Colony to produce food to support the Russian settlements in Alaska, as well as to expand the valuable sea otter trade.
Already commonly recognized as the snow & heli-ski capital of North America, Alaskan city Valdez is currently on pace to break its own snowfall record of 14.24 meters set in the winter of 1989-90. As of January 14, the town of Valdez had already received 8.18 meters of snow. And it’s only January! Undoubtedly the snow will be creating new ski lines or perfecting old ones. Flowriding has just grown bigger! Inspired by the success of the Flow Tours in the US and the FLOW Championships held in Singapore for the last two years, venues in the Asia region have teamed up to organize the inaugural Asian Flow Series 2011. The series will be hosted in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and at the Pacific Islands Club (Saipan). PIC Saipan is the only location with double FlowRider wave machine in the entire Micronesia. The resort will host the last series of this competition before the finals on Sept.

Japanese company Ken Corporation purchased the American resort chain, Pacific Islands Club (PIC), located in Mariana Islands. Ken Corporation bought the hotel, the hotel management contract and the hotel boutique. At this moment there are no major changes accept the change of the hotel general managers. The new owners of PIC are happy with the positioning of PIC with the Russian market.
The regional aviation company in Micronesia, Fly Guam began servicing the route Guam-Saipan-Hong Kong. The airline has three flights weekly, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Now one can travel to the Mariana Islands not only through Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, but also through Hong Kong. The Mariana Islands archipelago is located west of the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean, some 3 to 5 hours away from Tokyo, Seoul or Hong Kong.
